Move fast and break stuff … Mars opposite Uranus

move fast and break stuff

There are a couple of things to take note of as Mars in Libra comes back to opposition with Uranus in Aries over the next day or so. This energy is bringing back into play the power of the Pluto-Uranus square, so it is part of the evolve-or-evaporate demands of this year. With Mars-Uranus opposition, we get assertiveness (Mars) pulling in the opposite direction of Uranus, the planet of rebellion. So there is a tendency for impatient, impulsive, reactive, ego expressions, with each of us striving to break free of what we experience as inhibiting.  Anything that is seen as conventional, traditional or even just stuck becomes a source of frustration.

This is a time for doing things differently, for breaking the mould. But at the same, time, recognise this drive for what it is, a need to break free of inhibiting ties and to exert independence … that doesn’t necessarily mean having to throw the proverbial baby out with the bathwater.

And, with Mars being about physical energy and Uranus being power and electric, the other thing to watch out for over the next couple of days is mechanical breakdowns and accidents. It’s probably a good time to be a little cautious about channelling personal frustrations through tools and machinery … that’s not going to work, and it might hurt!

Of course none of this is causal, but ….

Mars Square Pluto … its break through time!

breakthrough plant

There’s heaps going on astrologically over this weekend. So many things stirring and so much potential for breaking through.  Use it wisely!

Full Moon, Venus-Saturn opposition, Mars-Pluto square, and all this clouded in the potential confusion and delusion of Mercury and Neptune being retrograde.  It would be easy to get lost in what is not present … and it will take an effort to stay real and grounded.  But if you can, the possibility for growth is great.

Following closely on the heels of the Full Moon and Venus-Saturn aspect, Mars moves back into Square with Pluto on Friday or Saturday (depending where you are on this planet).  Mars was retrograde for a few months until late May, so as it moves forward it is repeating the Pluto squares of April and January this year … meaning that it will reactivate the breakthroughs or tensions of those times.  Now is the time to move through the tension … and to really get the breakthrough! It will only cause stress if we refuse to go with the challenges and opportunities that are being offered.  Whatever emerged in January and / or April, the next week or so is a time to look deeply into how to make the transformations that seemed possible then work in our lives. The energy of this transit is powerful, intense and dynamic.  The opportunity for change is palpable.

But take care. Mars is the assertive planet and Pluto is the transformative one, so when these two are Square to each other, the desire to assert self and the need for transformation can be pulling us in different directions. The forcefulness of Mars-Pluto can be quite ruthless and hurtful if we’re not in tune with our underlying ego drives.  This might manifest outwardly as arguments or struggles with others, or inwardly as self-destructive behaviours.  If we’re not conscious, it can come out as destructive rage or manipulation.

And, keep in mind that everyone will be feeling this to some degree, so people will be upset, angry, irritated and being less than conscious, causing hassles without knowing where the drive is coming from.  Take a deep breath, and take responsibility!! Focus on the opportunity for growth, and as Jim says …. break on through to the other side!

Sag full Moon & Venus opposite Saturn … play time, serious time or playful serious time?

full-moon-300x225

We are building up to a Full Moon in Sagittarius (Friday 13th June, 9.00 am, AEST), which would usually be quite a playful, energetic energy.  Sag full moon is typically party energy, and coming so close to the solstice celebration times, it is a time for fun.  But this time, it is combined with a Venus-Saturn aspect that is likely to tone it down a bit.

Venus is opposite Saturn at 2pm on Friday (AEST), which is a time for seriousness, especially in relating.  Venus is all about how we attract love and bring others to us, while Saturn is all about structure and how we build a future.  When these two planets are in opposition, the combination is a major reality check; a challenge to face what is real in our relating.  That the opposition involves Taurus and Scorpio makes it even more serious … Taurus is earnest, while Scorpio is profound, so this opposition can be inhibiting and controlling if we’re not careful to look for its lessons.  This transit forces us to look at what is working in our relating, to strengthen the depth of relationship through effort and commitment, it is an opportunity for creating the building blocks of love that is to last. But its down side is that intimacy can seem a burden, and doubts can creep in about our own sense of worth and value in a relationship.  This Saturnian energy can put a bit of a dampener on the fun, and make the whole thing of intimacy seem too hard, not worth the effort.  Wisdom is in using the power for building rather than giving up.

So, when you combine the playful Full Moon with this serious relating stuff, it seems to me that the end of this week will be a time when we can bring some lightheartedness to the challenges of getting real with our relationships.  Sure, Saturn is going to make it serious, but at the same time, there is an opportunity with this Full Moon to keep it from getting depressing.  Use the lightness of the Sag moon to overcome the fears of intimacy.  The caution is to be real, and to not miss out on the opportunity for growth that is presenting by losing oneself in the frivolousness of lunar play time!

These two aspects happen on Friday or Saturday, depending on where on this planet you are, and I’m anticipating that we will experience a gradual build up in the intensity of relating stuff over the next few days.

Of course none of this is causal, but it does give a fascinating insight into the fundamental interconnectedness of all things!!!
