Ok, so there’s a good chance the next few days could be a bit weird! With the combination of an eclipsed Aries full Moon (Saturday morning for those in Eastern Australia), Mars opposite Neptune (Sunday) and Mercury turning retrograde (Monday) there is a high likelihood of misunderstandings and confusion.
An eclipse is a time when emotions (Moon) are in shadow, we are disconnected from our feelings. So, we can feel out of sorts and act out of character. And when you get that happening to everyone at the same time, weirdness ensues! As this full Mooon is in Aries, watch out especially for Arians and Librans (and of course Cancerians, because they get whatever is happening to the Moon), they’ll be feeling it hte strongest.
The Mars-Neptune aspect is a physical and a psychic wobble … Mars is about physical energy, assertiveness, the yang nature. Neptune blurs the boundaries of everything it touches, it both creates and shows the illusion of it all. So, when these two planets are pulling in opposite directions we can get anything from clumsiness on a physical level to deceptions and delusions on an intention or spiritual level. It is not really a great time for precision in interactions, so don’t bother getting drawn into discussions of the minutiae … it’ll just end in a messy argument! But it probably is a great time to spend in the spa or the sea (with Neptune being so watery).
And then there is Mercury going retrograde, which I’ve talked about before, essentially the things ruled by Mercury (communications) don’t quite work in a straight line … Mercury retrograde 26th June – 21st July 2013. and here … Mercury retrograde is not an excuse for stuffing up!.
Put all that together and I reckon that the next few days are going to be just a little tricky, especially when it comes to communicating or expecting that our communications have been precisely delivered! It is a time for allowing and being forgiving, rather than judging and expecting. A time for fantasy and dreams, rather than illusion and differences. A time for calm and flow, rather than control and certainty …
And of course it’s not causal, just a reflection of the fundamental interconnectedness of all things …
Julia was never going to have it easy this year. After last weeks’ goings on I was intrigued to go back and have a look at what this year had in store for her, and this is what I found … her solar return chart last year showed that the Sun was exactly opposite Uranus and Square to Pluto at her birthday (29th September). The Solar Return chart is calculated for the time that the Sun returns to the exact position it was at your birth … the idea gives rise to the saying “many happy returns”. And the chart is an indicator of the energies to expect over the coming year.
So, for Julia, while it is nice to have the Sun in the First House of a Solar Return, suggesting that she would shine and make a strong impression on those around her, the risk of this placement is that it can be quite self-focussed, and fail to see and feel what is going on in the world outside the self. With the Sun Square to Pluto (in the Fourth House), it was inevitable that she would encounter power struggles that challenged her to transform, and that it would only be through compromise that she would get any resolution from this. With Pluto in the Fourth House, her base was not secure … and it seems that Kevin Rudd, Simon Crean and Bill Shorten made certain of that!
At the same time, her solar return Sun was exactly opposite Uranus (in the Seventh House), suggesting radical, unexpected and impulsive changes in her partnerships and alliances. Hmmm … seems that was an opportunity too good for an embittered ex-PM to ignore!
The added challenge for Julia is that her next birthday chart (29th September 2013) is still closely wrapped up in the Pluto-Uranus square, with the Sun only 3 degrees away from an exact square to Pluto, so she will still be experiencing powerful forces to evolve … or evaporate. Interestingly, Pluto will be right on her Ascendant, suggesting that she will be exuding power herself (something that she might have appreciated a little more of this year) and she will have the capacity for incredible depth of insight (again, something that might have been useful this year). The bonus for Julia with her next birthday chart is that the Moon and Jupiter will be in her Seventh House, so she should at least find comfort, meaning and growth in her personal relationships. And with her solar return Sun in the Tenth House of social status, and Uranus in the Fourth House of home base, it will be fascinating to see what stage she plays on over the next year or so.
Today is a day to take notice. Be aware today (and yesterday and tomorrow) of anything that challenges you to the core … whatever presents like this at the moment is probably a pointer into where you need to personally evolve. I’ve mentioned the Pluto-Uranus Square before, this is the defining astrological aspect of our times (2012-2015), the astrological reflection of the 2012 transformation into consciousness. Today the Sun is opposite Pluto, so it is activating this energy to even more depth than usual, suggesting that whatever shows up today is an insight into the evolution that this transit is demanding of each of us. With the Sun getting involved, it creates what’s called a T-Square with Pluto and Uranus, which will act like a little explosion of life force, bringing soul consciousness to the change that is inevitable. But, with Pluto involved, it is likely to manifest as a power struggle. So, if you find yourself in a power struggle, just notice what it is about and what it is really challenging for you.
Interestingly, over the next couple of months Mars (end of July) and Jupiter (mid-August) cross the same spot in the zodiac, so whatever you get an inkling of at the moment is likely to gain power, expand and create opportunities for growth over the next month or two. So, take note today … especially if it feels uncomfortable, there is likely to be a grain of truth and an opportunity in any niggling feeling that presents.
And of course, none of this is causal, it’s just an interesting insight into the art of timing ….
