Sweet romance … is it all Maya?

There’s two astrological aspects going on this weekend that make for a fascinating, but just a little challenging combination.  Venus is opposite Neptune (the exact was late yesterday) … so our perceptions of love were pulling in opposite direction to our hopes and ideals.  This can be dreamy and romantic, but it risks being the kind of romantic that has “hopelessly” attached to it.  Neptune brings the chance for delusion to whatever it touches, so it’s a time to take care that whatever we’re feeling, or more likely, creating in our minds, is actually real.

The other aspect is Mars opposite Pluto, activating the Pluto-Uranus ‘evolve or evaporate’ energy (again!!).  With Mars in play, there is likely to be an underlying tension to the weekend, and with Pluto, it is possible that little irritations could easily blow up into big disputes.  Time to take a deep breath, appreciate the mystical, and don’t get hung up on or triggered by any of the detail … it is all Maya anyway!!

Venus, the planet of love and attraction, moves into Leo today, the sign of romance, creativity and drama. So, expectthe next three weeks to involve dramatic expressionsof love and romance!  This sounds like fun, though with Mercury retrograde at the same time I suspect there might be a bit of muddle-headedness in the communications … romantic requests going astray, accidentally pushing the ‘send’ button or with the wrong person in the ‘To’ header … oops!!! As I say, it could be fun! But whatever confusion Mercury might add to the mix, Venus in Leo is a time for love and a time to play.

Venus transits around the zodiac once a year, it’s always less than 60 degrees (ie, one or two signs) away from the Sun.  At the moment it is zooming, so this Leo transit only lasts three weeks … get in quick!

If you know your birth chart, look at the House where Leo is, as this is where you will be attracting love and beauty into your life over the next few weeks.

If you know someone with Venus in Leo in their natal chart, and especially if you’re their lover, you’ll know that this placement loves to adore … and to be adored.  They tend to be affectionate, romantic, generous and playful in relationship, and they really need to know that they are your number one … don’t leave them guessing, it won’t work!  For these people, while Venus travels through Leo over the next few weeks, expect them to be even more magnetic than usual … and maybe even more demanding, after all, this is their time to shine!!

Cancer caring … week of 23rd June 2013

At the winter solstice yesterday the Sun moved into Cancer (yep, the two events are linked, it’s the same as how the Sun moves into Capricorn at the summer solstice … and I’m talking about the Southern Hemisphere here), and with Venus and Mercury already in Cancer and Jupiter about to join them next week (on Tuesday), we are indeed in the midst of the sensitive and nurturing energy of the crab … a gentler time than the fervour and frivolity of these past few Gemini weeks.  Venus and Mercury are still hanging out together, so this weekend is a great time for communications that require empathy and sensitivity.  Mercury has slowed down, preparing for its (apparent) retrograde period that starts on the 27th June.  This will be a time when thoughts turn inwards, when it is best to focus on internal processing rather than overt projections … more on Mercury retrograde in next post … Over the next few days the Sun connects into the Grand Water Trine with Saturn and Neptune.  While this won’t be as dreamy as when Venus got mixed up in this trine last week, it should be a time of heightened insight and intuition … this coming week is more of a romantic tear-jerker than an action thriller!!!
