Messy weirdness or weird messiness?

Ok, so there’s a good chance the next few days could be a bit weird!  With the combination of an eclipsed Aries full Moon (Saturday morning for those in Eastern Australia), Mars opposite Neptune (Sunday) and Mercury turning retrograde (Monday) there is a high likelihood of misunderstandings and confusion.

An eclipse is a time when emotions (Moon) are in shadow, we are disconnected from our feelings.  So, we can feel out of sorts and act out of character.  And when you get that happening to everyone at the same time, weirdness ensues!  As this full Mooon is in Aries, watch out especially for Arians and Librans (and of course Cancerians, because they get whatever is happening to the Moon), they’ll be feeling it hte strongest.

The Mars-Neptune aspect is a physical and a psychic wobble … Mars is about physical energy, assertiveness, the yang nature.  Neptune blurs the boundaries of everything it touches, it both creates and shows the illusion of it all.  So, when these two planets are pulling in opposite directions we can get anything from clumsiness on a physical level to deceptions and delusions on an intention or spiritual level.  It is not really a great time for precision in interactions, so don’t bother getting drawn into discussions of the minutiae … it’ll just end in a messy argument! But it probably is a great time to spend in the spa or the sea (with Neptune being so watery).

And then there is Mercury going retrograde, which I’ve talked about before, essentially the things ruled by Mercury (communications) don’t quite work in a straight line … Mercury retrograde 26th June – 21st July 2013. and here … Mercury retrograde is not an excuse for stuffing up!.

Put all that together and I reckon that the next few days are going to be just a little tricky, especially when it comes to communicating or expecting that our communications have been precisely delivered!  It is a time for allowing and being forgiving, rather than judging and expecting.  A time for fantasy and dreams, rather than illusion and differences.  A time for calm and flow, rather than control and certainty …

And of course it’s not causal, just a reflection of the fundamental interconnectedness of all things …

October, it’s a wild ride!

So you think the weather is woolly … wait till you get the astrological forecast for October, it will be a wild ride all month.  It starts off with Sun square Pluto today, followed by Sun opposite Uranus on Friday, sparking the Pluto-Uranus ‘evolve or evaporate’ energy.  Any of the need for change that has been bubbling under the surface will come up and make itself obvious over the next week, and this will be felt on both a personal and a geo-political level.  You can try to kid yourself with this energy, but you’re going to have to be pretty damn good at suppression for it to work!  This is ‘get real’ time, time to get rid of what is not working.

And then the rest of the month brings us Venus squared Neptune on the 10th (think love delusions), an eclipsed full Moon in Aries on the 19th (emotions hidden from the self), Mars opposite Neptune also on the 19th (misdirected assertion and sexual energy) and then Mercury begins another retrograde (21st).

October may be a wild ride indeed.  Of course, none of this is causal, but then there is the fundamental interconnectedness of all things ….

Venus Square Mars – its all fun and games in love land, or is it??

It seems that we’ve had a couple of relatively benign days after the psychic (or should that be psychotic?) ructions of Pluto stationary at the full Moon, so we’ll all be ready for the fun and games of this coming weekend, right? (and no, I don’t mean football, that’s over!)

Venus is square to Mars over the weekend.  Venus, the feminine planet that represents beauty and attraction.  Mars, the masculine planet that represents action and sexual drive.  This weekend, those two energies are at cross-purposes with each other.  Sexual tensions and competitiveness will play out in the land of love, and it is likely that differences will arise between romantic and sexual needs, between love and action, betwen reception and assertion.  This can be either stimulating and invigorating, if we celebrate the differences, or it can be damaging and controlling if we don’t allow ourselves to see the other side.  And the tussle between the masculine and feminine energies will be as much about what happens on the outside, betwen people, as what goes on on the inside, with our individual yin and yang balance.

The reason this square is quite full on is that it has the intensity of Venus in Scorpio (loving through desiring, harmony through conflict) at odds with the passion of Mars in Leo (self assertion through creation of power and drama).  Scorpio and Leo are both ‘fixed’ signs, this means they tend to be a little stuck in their ways … and this weekend might require a bit of giving in to make things work!

Of course it’s not causal, but it is a fascinating insight into the fundamental interconnectedness of all things ….
